My New York Television Festival Experience

I recently spent a week in the big city as an official artist in the New York Television Festival (NYTVF). This festival has been designed to give independent content creators an opportunity to showcase their projects to their peers and many industry partners. Over the  years, this festival has attracted a number of notable network partners. I personally entered my project, “Jen the Body Painter” in both the A&E and Lifetime unscripted pipeline contests.

In the picture shown to the left, an A&E executive talks about what he and his team look for during a pitch.

I encourage anybody who has ever been interested in writing for TV or directing short films to take a look at this festival. At the onset of the festival, the organizers told us during orientation that there will be 26 deals given out by the end of the week. That is huge for the many producers, directors and talent who traveled to New York from all over the country. Stay tuned for updates on Jen the Body painter .
